Hitting the Pause Button...

Hello Everyone,

We've had a great run with Four Leaf Training over the past year and a half, meeting a lot of new folks, getting to work with some fantastic shooters and helping to bring the best to Alpha Range.

After taking stock of our time commitments and personal goals, we've decided that it would be best to take a break from the teaching business.

We will still be running McHenry IPSC and doing as much as possible to continue bringing great matches to Alpha.

If you're looking for instruction, here are our recommendations:

Sincerely,
Terry Brown and Les Kismartoni

Intro to Competition Pistol - August 28th, 2014

Our monthly Introduction to Competition Pistol class at Alpha Range in McHenry, IL

For the shooter wanting to enter into pistol competition this 3 hour class will be an introduction to the rules and safety procedures needed to get started. This is accomplished through a small class size where individual attention coupled with open communication leads to a solid foundation in the shooting sports. Classroom topics covered will include safety, equipment, range procedures, basic rules, basic scoring and what to expect on the range. The live fire element of the class will expose the new shooter to a basic stage scenario where the shooter will have a chance to practice what they’ve learned in a low stress (uncompetitive) environment. The live fire portion of the class also gives the instructors an opportunity to evaluate and address any safety issues the student may exhibit prior to participating in a USPSA or IDPA match.

This introduction is designed for intermediate shooters who are looking to begin participating in action pistol shooting sports. Students should be knowledgeable with the safety and operation of their pistol and related equipment. Additionally students should be familiar with using and drawing from a holster. New shooters not familiar with the above should contact us to discuss training that will bring you to this level.

February Skills and Drills (Block 2)

This month's Skills & Drills will start off focusing on the draw. Once we've pushed you to draw faster than you ever have before we'll move on to some very challenging drills. Don't be intimidated though because, as always, drills are tailored to the individual shooter regardless of skill level. Our drills are geared to push shooters against themselves not others in the class. What would all this be without some fun? It wouldn't. That's why we always end on a fun note by playing a "game". If you're with us regularly then we look forward to seeing you again. If not then we look forward to you joining us to see what it's all about. See you there.
